Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Videoteca Studios, Inc. ("Videoteca", "we") for videotecastudios.com and the video editing service on it. Using Videoteca means you accept them.
1. What Videoteca does
You set your look once (logo, colors, font and name tag), then upload a talking-head video. We edit it automatically: pauses are tightened, repeated takes are trimmed, and your graphics and a caption file are added. You download the finished result from your account.
After we deliver an edit, you can watch it in your account, pause anywhere and tell us in your own words what you would like changed. We make the changes and send you a new version. When you are happy, you finalize the video to download it.
Editing is automated, so an edit can contain mistakes. Please watch the finished video before you post it. If something is wrong, see Refunds below.
2. Your account
You sign in with a link we email you, so anyone with access to your inbox can use your account. Keep it secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 18 to use Videoteca.
3. Your content
You own your videos, logos and everything else you upload ("your content"), and you own the finished edits we make from them. You give us permission to store, process, edit and deliver your content, but only to run Videoteca for you.
You promise that you have the right to use your content. That includes music, images, and the permission of anyone who appears or is heard in your video, and that your content does not break the law or anyone else's rights. We do not use your videos to train AI models, and we do not sell or share them.
Send to YouTube uses YouTube API Services. By using it, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. When you send a video to YouTube from Videoteca, you are the publisher: your YouTube channel and your content are covered by those terms, and you are responsible for what you post.
4. Using Videoteca fairly
Do not use Videoteca to:
- upload content that is illegal, that infringes someone else's rights, or that exploits or endangers children;
- harass or threaten people, or spread malware;
- create several accounts to get more than one free video, or otherwise get around our limits;
- interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or copy or resell it.
Videos can run up to 60 minutes and 30 GB, in landscape. We may refuse or remove content, and suspend accounts, that break these terms.
5. Pricing and payment
- Your first video is free. Its closing screen carries a small “Edited with Videoteca” note; videos on the plan, and extra videos, do not.
- After that, the monthly plan includes 4 videos each month. It is $19 a month for our first 100 subscribers (the founding price), which they keep for as long as they stay subscribed without a break, and $29 a month for everyone after. Unused plan videos do not roll over.
- You can add one more video for $5 at any time while you are on the plan. Extra videos stay in your account until used.
- Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
The plan renews every month until you cancel. Cancel any time from Payments and receipts in your account. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for, and we do not refund part of a month. If we change our prices, we will tell you at least 30 days before the change reaches you.
6. Turnaround and revisions
We aim to return your edit within minutes. Timing depends on demand and on the length of your video, and we cannot guarantee it.
Revisions are included with every video at no extra charge. Send as many changes and as many rounds as you need. If one video gets an unusual number of rounds in a single day, we may hold new ones for one of us to look at, and get in touch. Some requests, such as adding music, need our team and may take longer. We keep your original recording for 30 days after your last activity on the video (delivery, a request for changes, or finalizing) so that changes are possible. After that we may not be able to change it.
7. Refunds
If an edit is not right, write to hello@videotecastudios.com within 14 days of delivery. We will redo it or refund what that video cost you, whichever you prefer. Cancelling does not create a refund for time already paid for.
8. Ownership of Videoteca
We own Videoteca: the website, software, graphics templates and brand. You may use them only as part of the service. You may use the finished videos we make for you however you like.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Videoteca infringes your copyright, write to hello@videotecastudios.com with a description of the work, where you found it, and your contact details. We will review it and remove content where appropriate. Accounts of people who repeatedly infringe may be closed.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Videoteca at any time. You can delete your account and files yourself from the Account page in the app, or write to hello@videotecastudios.com. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law) continue after your account ends.
11. No warranty
Videoteca is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, or that edits will meet every expectation. We do not promise a particular result from automated editing.
12. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, views or subscribers. Our total liability for any claim about Videoteca is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you have not paid us. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to those courts.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will post it here and email account holders. If you keep using Videoteca after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
