Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Videoteca Studios, Inc. collects when you use videotecastudios.com, why, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account: your email address. Sign-in links are stored only as a one-way hash and expire after 15 minutes.
- Your look: your logo, colors, font, and the name, title and channel name you put on your graphics.
- Your videos: the files you upload, their titles, any notes you write, their length, size and dimensions, and what we make from them (finished edits, caption files, cover pictures, Shorts, and suggested titles and descriptions), and the comments you leave asking for changes along with our replies. Editing also produces a transcript of what is said in the video.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card. We keep your Stripe customer ID, your plan status and renewal dates, and how many extra videos you have. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Network and device: when you sign up we store a scrambled (keyed hash) form of your IP address, never the address itself, so one network cannot claim many free videos. Our hosting provider also handles IP addresses and request logs to run and protect the site.
- Cookies and storage: one cookie keeps you signed in for 30 days. Before you sign up, the look you are building is kept in your browser only, and is saved to your account when you sign in. We do not use advertising cookies. With your permission, we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to see which pages help people. You choose in a banner, and declining changes nothing about how Videoteca works.
- How you use Videoteca: we count key steps in our own database, such as opening the look builder, saving your look, uploading a video and getting it back, to see where people get stuck. These counts use no cookies and no outside tools. When you sign up we also save the website or campaign that brought you here.
- Your YouTube connection: if you connect a channel, its name, an encrypted token that lets us upload the videos you choose, and the YouTube link of each video you send. Nothing else from your Google account.
- Messages: emails you send us, and the sign-in and video-ready emails we send you.
How we use it
To run Videoteca: sign you in, edit and deliver your videos, take payment, send the emails above, keep the service secure, prevent abuse, fix problems and improve the product. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your videos to train AI models.
AI and automated editing
Your speech is turned into text on our own computer, and the cutting, graphics and finished video are made there too. For the editing choices, that text (the words spoken and when they are said) is sent to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, along with the video's title, your channel name and the line under your name on the name tag. Claude uses it to:
- spot repeated takes to trim;
- pick the moments for graphics, write the words on them, and spell the names you mention correctly;
- choose the look for your videos, from your first one;
- suggest a title, the words on your cover picture (thumbnail), a description and chapters;
- pick the moments for your Shorts.
When you ask for changes, the comments you write, together with the words spoken near each moment and the words on your graphics (including your name), are sent to Anthropic so it can work out what you mean. Your video, your voice, your face, your logo and your email address are never sent. Anthropic uses all of this only to return its answer to us. If we change how this works, we will update this page.
If you speak a change request out loud instead of typing it, that short recording is sent to Cloudflare's Workers AI speech-to-text service, which turns it into the written request for us. Only that clip is sent, never your video.
Connecting YouTube
Send to YouTube uses YouTube API Services. If you connect your YouTube channel, Google asks you to let Videoteca upload videos to your channel and see your channel's name. We use that access only to send the videos you choose to the channel you connected, and to show you which channel is connected. We keep an encrypted token for this, your channel's name, and for each video you send its title, description, who can watch it and its YouTube link. Nothing else from your Google account. We share none of it with anyone except Google, which receives the videos you send.
Google handles what it receives under the Google Privacy Policy.
You can disconnect at any time from the video page. You can also remove Videoteca's access on Google's security settings page. When you disconnect or delete your account, we delete the token and ask Google to revoke it. Questions about how we handle this? Email hello@videotecastudios.com.
Videoteca's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare: website hosting, file storage, our database, and turning spoken change requests into text (Workers AI).
- Stripe: payments, invoices and sales tax.
- Resend: sending our emails.
- Anthropic: the text analysis described above.
- Google: YouTube uploads, only if you connect your channel.
- Google: website analytics, only if you agree in the banner.
These providers may only use your information to serve us. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the company.
How long we keep it
- An upload you start but do not finish is deleted after 24 hours.
- Your original upload is deleted 30 days after your last activity on that video (delivery, a request for changes, or finalizing).
- Finished videos, caption files and your look are kept until you delete them or your account.
- Working files on our editing computer are removed within about 7 days after delivery.
- Payment and tax records stay with our payment provider for as long as the law requires, even after you delete your account.
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself from the Account page in the app. That removes your videos, finished edits, look and account right away and cancels any plan. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask for a copy of it, by writing to hello@videotecastudios.com. We will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, and we honor these requests for every customer.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we handle your information to provide the service you asked for, and for our legitimate interests in keeping Videoteca secure and preventing abuse. Videoteca is run from the United States, so your information is processed there and in other countries where our providers operate.
Security
Connections to Videoteca are encrypted, sign-in links work once, and access to files is limited to your account and the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Children
Videoteca is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We will post any update here and change the date at the top. For material changes we will also email account holders.
