Videoteca makes a few Shorts from every video: short, upright clips of your best moments. Here's when to post them so they bring people to your full video.
On the day your video goes public
- Publish your video. Make it public on YouTube.
- Send your email. If you write to your readers or clients, send it the moment the video is public, with the link.
- Post your first Short within the hour. People who see it can tap straight through to your video while it's brand new.
Then one Short a day
Post the next Short the day after, and one more each day until you've posted them all. A Short a day keeps your channel in front of people for most of a week, without any extra work on your part.
You don't have to watch each one first. We pick your best moments and make them ready to post.
Link each Short to your video
YouTube lets you link a Short to one of your longer videos, so a viewer can tap from the Short to the whole thing. YouTube calls it a "Related video". In YouTube Studio, open the Short, pick your video under Related video, and save. YouTube explains it here: Add a related video to your YouTube Shorts.
Do it for every Short. A link in a Short's description can't be tapped, but a Related video can.
Questions people ask
Should I post all my Shorts on the same day?
No. One a day works better. Each new Short is a fresh chance for someone to find you, and your video stays new to people for longer.
What if I miss a day?
Post the next one when you can. The order matters more than the exact day: the first Short goes up with your video, the rest follow.
Do I need to watch my Shorts before I post them?
You can, but you don't have to. We pick the moments that stand on their own and make each one ready to post.
